Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited to start the second half of 5th grade with my wonderful students. The third nine weeks is a busy one in math and science. Students are busy working on their Science Fair projects. These projects are due on Monday, February 1st. The students will have 45 minutes of class time on Fridays to work on their projects. This is a good time for the students to show me their progress and to ask questions. In math this nine weeks it is all about fractions. We will spend the next seven weeks on Fractions. The students will be learning how to add and subtract fractions with unlike denominators this year. They will also begin to learn how to multiply and divide fractions. We will end the nine weeks with algebraic expressions, order of operations, and measurement. It is essential that students complete their math homework, so they have the practice they need to be successful in class. As always, thank you so much for your support. It is going to be a great 2016 in 5th grade.
